Clearvision have installed 28 Tube 662mm fittings (2 with emergency) for the skate bowl in Selfridges’ new designer streetwear section at their flagship store on Oxford Street on Monday 29th October 2018.
The luminaire was chosen for its high lumen output, efficiency, cylindrical design, the lit effect and versatility due to the built in wireless controls and easy to use app.
The Bluetooth Casambi controls allow for dimming, timer control and scene setting with both static and animated lighting scenes via a mobile device as required.
The skate bowl is a fully-enclosed space that forms part of a 18,000 sq ft space in the corner on the first floor, overlooking Oxford Street and Duke Street.
The skate bowl was created by sports and lifestyle agency, Mighty Mighty. Special mentions go to Phil Young (Director) at Mighty Mighty alongside Daniel Blaker (Creative Director) and Matthew Allen-Olivar (Lighting Designer) at Nulty Lighting and Ross McGouran, a former UK champion and professional skater at Selfridges.
Brian Boateng, Commercial Director at Clearvision, said “We are delighted to have been part of this project. The skate bowl is an innovative concept. The skate bowl project showcases our diversity and ability to supply for any environment and application as a company and I’d like to thank all involved for their efforts in launching on time.”
Stay tuned for further project updates.
